Ordering

How do I cancel/adjust my order?  No problem - contact me with your order number and I’ll take care of it. Unfortunately if your order has shipped, you’ll need to do a return. You can look at our return instructions here. Feel free to still reach out to me, and we'll get it sorted out.

I placed my order a while ago and haven't received a shipping confirmation email yet. When is it going to ship?  Email me to find out where your order is in the queue. It should ship within the timeframe on the product page (typically 2-4 weeks). If a delay does occur, you’ll hear from me directly.

I really want to order something for an event, but your lead time says it won’t be ready in time. Is there a way to get this garment sooner? Contact me, and I’ll see what I can do. I’ll always try my best, but sometimes it won't be possible.

Do you do custom orders?  Though I have in the past, I’m no longer taking custom orders.

Do you sell wholesale or produce for other brands? I don’t. Declarative is only a direct-to-customer experience and every knit is made-to-order.

Do you knit pieces in custom colors? Yes! Since each Declarative knit is made-to-order just for you, picking out a custom color is easy. Select “custom color” and check out as usual. Once we’ve received your order, I’ll email you to discuss the color you’re looking for and track it down from there. Want to talk about color options before placing your order? Shipping

Which shipping carrier do you use? All orders are shipped via USPS. Knits are sent USPS priority. Art prints are sent USPS first class.

How long does your shipping take? Can I rush ship an order?  Most orders will arrive at your doorstep about 3 days after you receive a shipping confirmation email. If you need to rush ship something or need a garment by a certain date, please email me before placing your order.

Do you ship outside the US? Yes, currently to Australia, Canada, Mexico, the UK and select countries in Europe. Other international shipping may be available upon request. Contact me directly to place your order. Please note that the buyer is responsible for any tariff, duty, taxes, or custom clearance charges required by your country. We do not collect this beforehand and can’t give you an estimate of the cost because it varies widely around the world.


Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?  Each Declarative piece is handmade just for you, and I want to make sure you love it. Returns are accepted for full refund or store credit for up to 14 days after delivery is received, unworn, unwashed & unharmed. Declarative reserves the right to decline a refund if items are damaged or held for longer than 14 days after delivery.

How do I make a return/exchange?  Contact me to request a return/exchange before sending anything. Here’s our Return Policy for full instructions.

How long does it take to process returns?  You can expect us to process your return 1-3 days after we receive the returned merchandise.

What if my return/exchange is late?  If your return is postmarked 14 days after the original order was received, we cannot offer you a refund, but will instead offer you store credit in the full amount of your purchase or reship your order back to you.

Do I have to pay return shipping?  Nope. Contact me here to request a return, and I’ll send you a label for your return package. Please track your return package as Declarative is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Take a look at our Return Policy for full instructions.


Fit & Sizing

Help! I don't know what size to get. No worries! There are three things you can do:
1- Check out our Size Guide for detailed sizing and measurement info.
2- Check the "Flat Measurements" section on each product page to see additional size information.
3- Send me an email with your sizing questions/concerns. I’m here to help you find the right size.

I want to try on before I buy. Is there somewhere I can do that? Unfortunately, we don't have any brick-and-mortar locations where you can try on garments. However, to mitigate the risk of buying things without trying them first, we offer free returns.

I checked out your Size Guide and fall outside of the chart. Can I get your garments custom made to my measurements? Yes! Whether you fall outside of the size chart, land in between sizes or just want customizations made, I can make your piece made-to-measure. Please note that additional fees may apply and vary depending on the scope of work requested. Please email me for more information.


Caring for Your DECLARATIVE KNITS

What's the best way to care for my knits? Check out the Garment Care Guide for detailed instructions on how to maintain your knits.

So what would actually happen if I put my Declarative knits in the washing machine and/or dryer? It depends on the garment’s fiber content and how delicate it is. If it’s silk or woolens, very bad things will happen (hello shrinking.) On the other hand, cotton and linen will likely survive, especially if it was put in a garment bag and run with cold water. That being said, the wear of washing and drying cycles could permanently damage thin or delicate knits. We do not recommended anything other than handwashing your Declarative piece.

Are you really doing everything from your Seattle, WA studio? Everything but printing, which is done at a local printer. In my studio, every knit is designed, patterned, graded, packaged and shipped. It’s not the fastest way to work, but the craftsmanship is impeccable and the process respects our planet.
